खूंटी/रांची: खूंटी जिले में आदिवासी आंदोलनकारी और पड़हा राजा सोमा मुंडा की हत्या के विरोध में 17 जनवरी 2026 को पूरे झारखंड में बंद का आह्वान किया गया है। यह बंद भूमि लूट, खनन माफिया और आदिवासी समाज के खिलाफ कथित सुनियोजित हमलों के विरोध में बुलाया गया है। आदिवासी समन्वय समिति (खूंटी) समेत दर्जनों आदिवासी संगठनों ने संयुक्त रूप से इसकी घोषणा की है।
प्रेस विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार, 7 जनवरी 2026 को खूंटी जिले के अड़की थाना क्षेत्र अंतर्गत जमुआदाहा के पास आदिवासी समाज के सम्मानित नेता, पड़हा राजा एदल सांगा पड़हा के उत्तराधिकारी और झारखंड आंदोलनकारी सोमा मुंडा की अज्ञात अपराधियों ने गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी थी। बताया गया कि वे अपनी पत्नी के साथ बाइक से घर लौट रहे थे, तभी हमलावरों ने उन पर अंधाधुंध फायरिंग कर दी।
आदिवासी संगठनों के आरोप
आदिवासी संगठनों का कहना है कि सोमा मुंडा केवल एक व्यक्ति नहीं, बल्कि 56 गांवों की पारंपरिक पड़हा व्यवस्था के प्रमुख थे। उन्होंने जीवन भर जल-जंगल-जमीन की रक्षा, संवैधानिक अधिकारों और आदिवासी अस्मिता के लिए संघर्ष किया। संगठनों का आरोप है कि यह हत्या किसी व्यक्तिगत रंजिश का नतीजा नहीं, बल्कि भूमि माफिया, खनन दलालों और कॉरपोरेट हितों के खिलाफ आवाज उठाने वालों को दबाने की साजिश है।
आदिवासियों की स्थिति पर सवाल
प्रेस विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है कि झारखंड राज्य गठन के 25 वर्ष बाद भी आदिवासियों की स्थिति में अपेक्षित सुधार नहीं हुआ है। पेसा कानून, सीएनटी-एसपीटी एक्ट और अन्य सुरक्षात्मक कानूनों के कमजोर क्रियान्वयन के चलते भूमि घोटाले, जबरन कब्जा और फर्जी दस्तावेजों के जरिए जमीन हड़पने की घटनाएं लगातार बढ़ी हैं। खूंटी, रांची, गुमला और सिमडेगा समेत कई जिलों में आदिवासी कार्यकर्ताओं व सामाजिक नेताओं की हत्याओं का भी उल्लेख किया गया है।

सोमा मुंडा की हत्या के विरोध में 8 जनवरी 2026 को खूंटी जिला बंद रहा था, जिसमें बड़ी संख्या में लोग सड़कों पर उतरे और दोषियों की गिरफ्तारी की मांग की। संगठनों का आरोप है कि अब तक न तो आरोपियों की गिरफ्तारी हुई है और न ही पीड़ित परिवार को उचित मुआवजा मिला है। पुलिस जांच को लेकर भी असंतोष जताया गया है।
17 जनवरी को झारखंड बंद
आदिवासी संगठनों ने 17 जनवरी को प्रस्तावित झारखंड बंद को शांतिपूर्ण और लोकतांत्रिक तरीके से न्याय की मांग बताया है। इस दौरान राज्यभर में दुकानें, बाजार, स्कूल-कॉलेज, परिवहन सेवाएं और सरकारी-निजी कार्यालय बंद रखने की अपील की गई है।
